The Morning Principle to Alter Your Brain Chemistry
I said it. Alter your brain chemistry. Some of you are like okay lady whatever. But if you know anything about me, you should know that I don’t do or say anything if it is not something I believe in. Okay I’m getting to the point.
So what is this magical morning principle you ask? Well. it’s called pen to paper. Writing. Yes it will require you to wake up a bit earlier. It will force you to not run out the door to a workout at 5am. It will make you be present. It requires you to sit. You will actually have to listen to your thoughts. You might actually realize just how wonderful you are to spend time with. But there may be some thoughts that you don’t want to acknowledge, it’s important that you write them down anyways. Another thing about me, I hate rules but here are the ones you should know:
The only rules are:
Use a pen that you love.
Do not touch your phone - like just don’t okay?
Let it come out and don’t you DARE start to make judgements on what’s coming out.
Fight through the discomfort
Finish with your intention and gratitude for the day. “OMG i am so happy to be alive” (even if you’re feeling like a messy pile of a human being)
I have always written but I have never wrote in the morning and I have never wrote in the immediate minutes of my day. I have had things come out onto my pages these last 6 weeks that have been painful. I have also had really amazing epiphany’s. The morning pages is a tool. Thank you Julia Cameron!!!
